Torquay

Torquay may well be the most famous place name in Devon, certainly for seaside holidaymakers.

Planted firmly at the head of the English Riviera along with Paignton and Brixham thousands flock to it's beaches and attractions during the year.

Although that often leaves the beaches much more crowded than Dawlish Warren and the local areas of Dawlish and Teignmouth it does mean some attractions in the town can be overlooked.

Whether it's the floral displays of the Abbey Gardens, the various plays and shows open at the Princess Theatre or the calm serenity of a boat ride across the bay to Brixham it's fair to say Torquay is much more than a beach, although it is an excellent beach...

Its sea-front gardens, shopping centres and award winning fish and chips are just some of the attractions on offer and sure to mean a day out to Torquay will probably need longer than you set aside for it.
